Role Purpose

Alpha serves the Church by equipping it to help people explore and grow in a relationship with Jesus,

primarily through Alpha—a series of sessions that explore the Christian faith. Each role contributes to

this wider mission, recognising that our collective impact extends beyond individual responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

A. Strategic Networking & Growth:

  • Expansion & Promotion: Develop and implement an ambitious engagement plan to promote Marriage and Parenting courses, expanding their reach into new denominations and geographic regions.
  • Hub Church Development: Identify, develop, and support “Hub Churches” that can serve as regional centres of excellence for family ministry.
  • Partnerships: Proactively build partnerships with Christian organizations, NGOs, and local church leadership to explore joint training and growth opportunities.

B. Management & Oversight:

  • Network Leadership: Build, manage, and oversee a national group of Volunteer Marriage Coordinators.
  • Pastoral Care: Provide ongoing support, encouragement, and pastoral care to the volunteer network to ensure long-term commitment and health.
  • Accountability & Data: Ensure rigorous follow-up and data collection for all courses run across Egypt, maintaining clear accountability for impact and numbers.

C. Training, Equipping & Quality Assurance:

  • DNA Maintenance: Ensure that all training sessions and courses strictly adhere to the “Alpha DNA” and international best practices.
  • Capacity Building: Deliver high-quality training and facilitation for church leaders and volunteers in their local contexts.
  • International Alignment: Communicate with MPC EMENA (Europe, Middle East, and North Africa) coordinators to access, adapt, and implement new materials and global updates.

D. Contextualization & Development:

  • Cultural Adaptation: Review and enhance course materials to ensure they are culturally relevant and effectively “contextualized” to fit the Egyptian family dynamic.
  • Synergy: Collaborate closely with other Alpha coordinators (Youth, Evangelism, etc.) to maximize the holistic impact of Alpha in Egypt.

Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Education:

  • University degree required.
  • Relevant theological, ministry, or social sciences background preferred.

Experience:

  • Proven track record in church-based ministry, leadership, training.
  • Experience in working with married couples and children.
  • Experience in managing volunteer teams is highly desirable.
  • Experience in strategic planning, coordination, or team management is highly desirable

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities.
  • High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.
  • Servant-leader mindset with pastoral wisdom and humility.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written communication for reports, strategy, and presentations.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to influence church leaders across
  • different denominations.

Language:

  • Fluency in Arabic; strong proficiency in English for international communication and material adaptation.

Travel:

  • High flexibility and willingness to travel extensively throughout the country.

Availability (Required):

  • Availability during key Alpha conferences and events
  • Remote attendance at team devotions and prayer calls
